Hip & Joint Soft Chews

I picked up the Wholistic Pet Hip & Joint Supplement to give my dog some extra support, and so far the experience has been positive overall. The chews themselves are roughly 7/8" wide and about 5/16" thick, and my dog has no trouble eating them. She actually seems to enjoy the bacon flavor, which makes the daily routine easy. Based on her weight, she gets two chews a day.As for effectiveness, it’s a bit difficult to measure. She hasn’t shown any negative reactions, and she moves around fine, but it’s hard to say how much of a difference the supplement is making. Still, with ingredients like MSM, glucosamine, and chondroitin, I feel good about giving her something that supports joint health.Overall, these are convenient, palatable chews that my dog willingly takes. I’ll keep using them and watching for longer‑term benefits.

I’ve tried a few different brands of joint supplements for our 12-year old Shiba and this brand exceeded my expectations! First, it has green lipped mussels, which is a fantastic natural ingredient that is rich in Omega-3s (like ETA, EPA, DHA) and joint-supporting compounds that help reduce inflammation, ease arthritis pain, improve mobility, and support skin/coat health. I find that it often works better than fish oil due to its unique fatty acid profile—I am comparing fish oil in both the liquid version and a Veterinarian recommended supplement, Welactin.This supplement comes in a soft chew, it doesn’t have any weird smells (it actually smells like a very good treat), and it breaks apart easily to administer as a smaller bite. My dog is usually picky but she took to this right away. Each supplement is about the size of a quarter and is heart shaped; recommended as 1 serving per 25lbs of weight.I do hope that this improves her mobility, but upon first impression and the ingredient list, it looks good!

Hi, we’re a 10-year-old Husky who still feels pretty spry and a 14-year-old Border Collie who’s been through ACL surgery and has a love-hate relationship with stairs. Our human added these Wholistic Pet Hip & Joint supplements to our routine, and we’re happy to report… we approve.First things first: they look like heart-shaped treats. We noticed immediately. Very cute. More importantly, they smell like nothing (which is great, because weird smells make us suspicious). The chews are soft, easy to eat, and didn’t need to be hidden in our food or disguised with peanut butter. We happily ate them straight from the hand—always a good sign.The serving size makes sense too. One chew for every 25 lbs feels reasonable and is right in line with other joint supplements, so our human didn’t have to do any complicated math. Consistency is important when you’re managing aging joints.For me, the Border Collie, joint support really matters. After ACL surgery, stairs are still tough, and anything that may help support mobility and comfort is worth trying. We know supplements take time, so while it’s too early to judge long-term results, our human is excited to see how this helps over time especially with daily use.For the Husky, this feels like a great preventative supplement —something to keep joints happy and moving smoothly as the years go on.Overall, these chews are easy to eat, thoughtfully made, and fit seamlessly into our daily routine. No fuss, no smell, no refusal (and trust us, we can be picky). We’ll keep taking them and see where this journey leads—hopefully toward easier stairs and many more walks together.Two paws up from both of us.

My 3-year old pumi dog has luxated patellas. For that reason, she requires supplements and regular exercise to stay healthy and avoid arthritis. While I do give other supplements, I have noticed lately that my dog is stretching a lot, which can be a sign of increased arthritic pain per her orthopedist. This is why I started her on these supplements.They come in chewy, tasty (from a doggie perspective) bite-sized morsels. My dog, at 25 pounds, gets 1 a day, but a larger dog would get 2. My pup is eager to get this treat each day and is willing to obey a command to receive it. In terms of the active ingredients, the MSM would be expected to act as a natural pain reliever, the Glucosamine and Chondroitin may or may not support joint health (research is inconclusive on this matter), and the added Collagen may help keep the dog vibrant. Green-lipped mussels in the supplement may reduce inflammation. Overall, all the substances in this supplement have at least some research basis, and do not appear to present any risks if used as directed. For my pup, it is too soon to know if this supplement will relieve her joint issues, and I am not sure how to get her to tell me the immediate effects. She is still fast as lightening when outdoor and off leash, but that was true before the supplement as well.Overall, I think this is a solid supplement for joint health with all beneficial ingredients. It gets one star off for being rather pricey at the normal (non-coupon) cost. I would purchase it again with the coupon.

I’m giving this product three stars only because I couldn’t get my picky dog to eat it. The supplement itself is very well made, uses great ingredients, and even comes in cute little shapes. I also really appreciate that it doesn’t have the strong or unpleasant smell that many dog supplements tend to have.Unfortunately, no matter how I tried to offer it, my dog just wouldn’t eat it. If this were something my dog actually enjoyed, it would absolutely be on my reorder list. I think this could be a great option for dogs that aren’t as picky.
